Strawberry Banana Bread

This recipe was inspired by my grandma's Strawberry Bread! My grandma started making Strawberry Bread when my parents were dating because my mom liked eating healthy and this was a healthier dessert. While my grandma's recipe was called Strawberry Bread-- it tasted more like strawberry cake to me! So yummy and sweet!

I sought out to make my grandma's recipe a bit healthier, by cutting out some of the added sugars and adding in more whole grains. After much experimenting in the kitchen, I created this Strawberry Banana Bread recipe! This recipe is definitely more bread-like with a subtle sweetness from the bananas, coconut sugar and strawberries. It's yummy by itself or paired with peanut butter and jelly. Enjoy!

Strawberry Banana Bread

Prep time: 10 minutes

Bake time: 45 minutes

Servings: 10 slices



  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup oat flour

  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar

  • 1 t. cinnamon

  • 1/3 t. baking soda

  • 1/4 t. salt


  • 1 cup frozen strawberries, quartered

  • 1/2 cup + 2 T. mashed ripe banana

  • 1 flax egg (1 T. flax + 3 T. water)

Strawberry Banana Bread


  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Take out frozen strawberries to let them partially thaw.

  3. Mix all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  4. Make flax egg and set aside for 5 minutes.

  5. Mash banana, then set aside.

  6. Cut frozen strawberries in quarters until you fill up 1 full cup.

  7. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix together. Batter will be thick.

  8. Oil then flour a bread pan. Add batter to bread pan and evenly spread.

  9. Bake for 45 minutes.

  10. Remove from oven and let cool.

  11. Enjoy!
